The Gottardo hiking trail between Göschenen and Altdorf takes hikers through an impressive alpine landscape and past a range of different attractions. These include the Fellital suspension bridge at Gurtnellen, which crosses the roaring Reuss river.

From here, you’re just a few minutes’ walk from the Felliboden rest area in the heart of the forest. You can reach the rest area by heading north, climbing the steps and following the zigzag path. The rest area and two large picnic tables are the ideal place for kids to play and run around. The rocks and logs are great fun for little ones, and the nearby wooden den will spark their imaginations while also offering a place to relax. Fires of any kind are strictly prohibited at the rest area.
